Jeffrey D. Brien

Jeffrey D. Brien, Sr., 59, of Averill Park passed away on February 19th, 2024 at Westchester Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Born in South Carolina, Jeff was a part of a military family that often moved, instilling in him a great appreciation for our nation. Jeff would often regale family and friends of childhood stories that took place across the country. Jeff would eventually serve his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1984 to 1986, being honorably discharged. Finally, Jeff would put down roots in Vermont and New York, starting his own family. In his final years, Jeff was a devoted caretaker to his fiancée, Kathryn "Katie" Connolly, who predeceased him. Jeff also loved to fish, cook, play fantasy football with his close friends, spoil his pug Seamus, and visit family--especially his granddaughter, Keira, who was the apple of his eye.

Jeff is survived by his parents George and Gertrude "Trudy" (née Tremblay); siblings Alan and Karen (Jim) Raschke; niece Brooke Raschke; children Jeff "JD" Brien, Jr., Logan, Emily (Stephen) Noyes, Tiva (Craig) Dion, and Ryan Connolly-Stouffer; grandchildren Keira, Eli and Alana Noyes, and Kyah and Morgan Dion.

Family and friends are invited and may call from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday February 25, 2024 at the Wynantskill Funeral Home, 294 Whiteview Road, Wynantskill. Funeral mass 10:30 am on Monday at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 43 Brookside Avenue, Wynantskill. Burial with military honors will follow at Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
