Angela Bouchard, 90 passed away on December 21, 2017 after an 11 year courageous battle with cancer at her home surrounded by her son, daughter and dog “Sophie”.
Born in Troy, she was the daughter of Samuel Grinaldo and Grace DiStefano Grinaldo.
On June 6, 1947 she married her loving husband Donald Bouchard at St. Francis DeSale’s Church in Troy, Donald died in 1997. Angela graduated from Catholic Central High School and Troy Business College.
Angela loved spending time with her family and was primarily a homemaker, but would proudly tell everyone how she was a payroll clerk at the Watervliet Arsenal in the 1950’s. She also worked with Dr. Frank Caple as a temporary dental assistant in the 1970’s, as a secretary for Paul Flagg at TriCity Dental Studio, she also assisted her daughter Grace (Cakes by Grace & Girls) for many years. Her passion was flowers. She loved taking care of her gardens. Angela was a member of St. Jude Rosary Altar Society, she loved bowling and was past secretary for Bowling Belles League for many years.
Angela is survived by her children William (Donna) Bouchard of Cohoes and Grace (the late Paul) Flagg of Wynantskill, her grandchildren Sarah and Olivia Flagg and Matthew Bouchard, her sister Marguerite Favro (Jim Scorscone) of Troy, her nieces and nephews Gary (Debbie) Favro, AnnMarie (Patrick) Strack, Angela Grinaldo, Virginia (the late Dennis) Ryan, Nicholas (Margo) Grinaldo, Richard O’Donnell and Andrea (James) Dedrick, her great nieces and nephew Kimberly Favro, Don (Amy) Favro, Daryl (Kristi) Ryan, Eric Ryan, her great great nephews Maxwell and Samuel Ryan and Kole and Jack Favro.
In addition to her husband Donald, she was predeceased by her siblings Josephine Grinaldo, Nicholas (the late Virginia) Grinaldo, Mary (the late Andy) O’ Donnell, Angelo Grinaldo and brother in law Donald Favro.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Ira Zackon, Dr. Rufus Collea and Dr. Justin Juliano from NYOH, the Eddy Visiting Nurses and The Community Hospice team from Rensselaer County for all the wonderful care given to Angela and her family.
Funeral mass at 11:00 am on Wednesday December 27, 2017 at St. Jude the Apostle Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 8:30 am to 10:30 am at the Wynantskill Funeral Home 294 Whiteview Road, Wynantskill.
