Anne Rebecca (Giordano) Grobecker

Grobecker (Giordano) Anne Rebecca “Becky,” age 86, gained her angel wings on December 27,
2025, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY.
Becky was born on October 22, 1939, in Troy, New York, to the late Anne R. (Watson) Giordano
and James V. Giordano. She grew up in South Troy and, after marriage, lived all her married life
in Maplewood, NY. Becky and her beloved husband, Bob, also enjoyed many happy years as
snowbirds in Naples, Florida, a chapter of life she truly cherished.
A woman of determination, Becky worked hard to obtain her GED, a personal accomplishment
she was very proud of. Throughout her life she held many jobs, including working at the
Watervliet Arsenal snack bar, a place she loved and where her warm personality and friendly
smile brightened the days of many.
Becky had a strong Catholic faith and was deeply devoted to prayer. She faithfully kept her
family, friends, and anyone in need in her prayers, offering quiet strength, comfort, and love. She
enjoyed shopping, meeting up with friends, reading, and crafting, and found joy in country and
western music and playing golf. Becky was also a long-standing and devoted member of the
Maplewood Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, where she formed lasting friendships and gave
generously of her time.
She was the beloved mother of Tina M. (Stan) Rysio and Eric (Maria) Grobecker; a cherished
grandmother to Emily and Adam Rysio; and a proud great-grandmother (GG) to Mia and Gia
Santiago.
Becky is survived by her brothers Phil Giordano (Kathy), Richard Giordano (Mary), Mary Anne
Ryan, and Anthony Giordano (Donna). Many beloved nieces and nephews, Godchildren and
friends.
Predeceased by her parents, Husband Bob Grobecker, sister Joan and brother in-law Jim (Snap)
Connell, Brother Wayne King, Brother Robert and Sister in-law Johanna Giordano and Brother
in-law Timothy Ryan and many friends and family she missed dearly.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The
Terrace at Eddy Memorial, 2256 Burdett Ave., Troy, NY 12180, Attn: Activities Room.
