Audrey C. Simard-Pettit, 29 years, passed away at home in Lansingburgh on January 28, 2026 after a fierce 3-year battle with cancer.
Audrey was born on January 13, 1997 in Troy, NY to Annette (Laurin) and Arthur Simard. Audrey resided most of her life in Lansingburgh and attended Oakwood Christian School for her elementary days, some of Catholic Central High School and finally became a proud graduate of Lansingburgh High School in 2015. Audrey loved to bake at home and perfected many recipes and spent some time as a baker, decorating cakes with Hannaford Bros. until she ventured to Adirondack College to work on her art.
In 2018, Audrey went to work as a baker and assistant Wedding Planner for the Old Daley Inn Catering Company. It is at the catering venues where she met the love of her life, James.
Audrey always expressed the love of being an Aunt to her nieces and nephews from the youngest age of 10 years until her last days. Audrey loved nature, science and creepy mysteries, as well as animals and flowers. It was this curiosity that led to nature adventures and local areas for hikes and exploration. Her favorite pastime was nature walks with James in Oakwood Cemetery that cultivated her love of mushrooms, cordyceps, and flowers. This appreciation and fascination of nature directly informed her Artwork. Audrey, with James, often shared these experiences and adventures with all the nieces and nephews.
It is said by everyone who has met Audrey, that she loved fiercely, laughed freely, and joked always. She loved watching movies, especially Disney movies with her nieces and nephews. She squeezed love into everyone with kisses, silly faces and fun dances. Audrey loved everyone so well, that she inspired courage, adventure, and creativity. The light that shone so brightly through her burned into the lives of those she loved and she is missed.
