Wynantskill- Betty Ann (Bulmer) Piel, 83, of Castleton passed away on December 22, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Ann Wachanus-Bulmer. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Donald Piel (Sniffer), who passed away in 2002 and sister, Jo Ann C. Piel. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Troy. Betty Ann spent many wonderful fun years in her hometown of Wynantskill before residing with her daughter and son-in-law in Castleton. As a self-proclaimed “Domestic Goddess,” Betty Ann enjoyed writing poetry for loved ones, holiday and pool parties, searching for collector items, decorating, gardening, feeding the birds and squirrels and spending time with her faithful canine companion, Angel. She especially loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchild. Betty Ann had a heart of gold and always made sure those she loved deeply never went without. She will be missed dearly by her family. Betty Ann is survived by her devoted daughter Charlene (Robert) Martel of Castleton, her grandchildren James (Andrea LaCrosse) McAuliffe, Christiana Martel, Daniel Piel and great-grandson Caden McAuliffe. She is also survived by her brother John (Theresa) Bulmer, Sr., and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Rebehn, Family Medical Group and to the Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, especially to Betty Ann’s nurse Grace and aide Tina for all of their loving care and compassion.
Calling hours will be from 8:00 am to 10:00 Tuesday December 29, 2020 at the Wynantskill Funeral Home, 294 Whiteview Road, Wynantskill.
