Brenda R. (Vanderbogart) Saunders

Petersburg- Brenda R. Saunders, 63, of Bly Hollow Rd, passed away on February 21, 2026 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Brenda was born on April 13, 1962, in Scranton, PA, to Howard Vanderbogart and Rosemary Geerholt Bradway. She was raised in Taborton, Sand Lake NY and attended Averill Park High School. Brenda will be laid to rest there, next to her siblings Keith Houston and Gail Harte, who passed away, August 2024 and June 2025. 

Brenda married her husband, Scott, on March 13, 1982. They were married for 43 years. She held many jobs over her lifetime but the most important one was being a mom. Her world revolved around her children and grandchildren. Brenda was one of the most caring and giving people. She loved garage sales, auctions and playing Bingo. Brenda will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and niece. She was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

Brenda is survived by her husband, Scott Saunders and her children Stacy (Nate) Walsh-Miner of South Glens Falls, Kevin Saunders of Nassau, NY, Tanya Saunders (Andy Sandstrom) of Lebanon Springs, NY and Kelly (Billy) Bass of Wynantskill, her eleven grandchildren Hannah, Lukas, Andrew W., Ava, Matthew, JT, Andrew S., Noah, Ralph, Madison and Braelyn. She is also survived by her mother Rosemary Bradway of Taborton, brother Lyle Houston of Wynantskill, sister Lori Safford (Dave) of Troy, brothers Jack and Justin Bradway (Kirstie) both of Averill Park. 

Brenda is predeceased by her father Howard Vanderbogart, her siblings Keith Houston and Gail Harte, and her son in law Shane Walsh.

Family and friends are invited and may call from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm with service at 4:00 pm all on Saturday February 28, 2026 at the Wynantskill Funeral Home, 294 Whiteview Road, Wynantskill, NY. Burial in the spring at Zion UCC of Taborton Cemetery.
