Brian J. Ryan

Brian J. Ryan, 77, passed away on April 22, 2024 at Samaritan Hospital. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Thomas J. Ryan, Sr and Helena Pitts Ryan.

Brian was an accountant for Combined Life Insurance of New York for over 30 years.

He was an avid sports fan, cheering on his favorite teams, the New York Giants and the Mets. Besides playing softball for Hedley Cadillac, he bowled in various area leagues and traveled the country for tournaments. He was especially proud of his 300 games. Brian enjoyed traveling, concerts, plays and visiting the Saratoga Casino and Racetrack.

Brian is survived by his loving wife Sandra (Sandie) Styno Ryan, his sister-in-law Kathleen (John) Vale, his nieces Stephanie Vale and Heather Vale (Dominic) and great-nephew, Angelo Buster Bendetti. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be missed by his canine friend, Roman, his walking buddy.

In addition to his parents, Brian was predeceased by his brothers Thomas J. Ryan, Jr., and Dennis (Ginny) Ryan.

The family would like to thank Dr. Duncan Savage, his nurse Erin, and Dr. Francis Coughlin (ER) for their wonderful care and concern.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church in Troy om Wednesday June 26, 2024 at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Brian may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or American Cancer Society.
