Charles E. Geissler, Jr

Wynantskill-Charles E. Geissler, Jr, 78, passed away on Thursday June 5, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born on December 13, 1946 in Pottsville, Pa., he was the son of the late Charles E. Geissler Sr. and Cora V. Hoover Geissler.

He was married to the love of his life and best friend for over 50 years Karen Fox Geissler. Charles leaves behind his cherished children Gregg Geissler (Dawn Vyvial) and Karla Geissler Jones (Bryan). He was the Best Pa to his grandchildren: Justin and Savannah, who he loved beyond reason. He is also survived by his sister Charlotte Diehl (late Don) and their children Donna Gibson, Sherry Slagen (George “Tai”), Melanie Hankle (Joe), his brother-in-law John Fox (Gail) of Colorado, and many cousins in Pennsylvania.

He will be remembered as a quiet man of few words, amazing love for his family, his kindness and integrity. He loved fishing, the Casino, cooking and being a member of the American Legion Post 1489 in Wynantskill.

He was a 1966 graduate of Averill Park HS, HVCC and was a MP in the United States Army.

 He was a 29-year retiree of Tek Hughes and retired from Hudson Valley Community College.

Family and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday June 11, 2025 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am with a service at 11:00 am all at the Wynantskill Funeral Home, 294 Whiteview Road, Wynantskill. Burial will follow with military honors at the Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
