Charles "Chuck" Carhart

Troy-Charles “Chuck” Carhart, 75, of Troy, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2021 at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center.  

Chuck was born on June 19, 1946 in Troy, the son of the late Eleanor Hayes and the late Daniel Carhart, Jr.  He was employed by Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for over 30 years, at CNS Nursing and then at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.  Chuck also ran The Eatery on Rte. 4 in North Greenbush for several years.  Those fortunate to have known Chuck will remember his passion for cooking, his sarcastic personality and how much he loved his sons and adored his grandchildren. 

He is survived by his sons George (Jessica) Carhart, and William (Kimberly Reynolds) Carhart; his grandchildren, Andrew, Jacob and Emily Carhart, and Daniel and Nathan Empie; his sister Mary Anne (Lawrence) Donnelly, his brother David Carhart, along with several nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.  Chuck was predeceased by his brothers Daniel Carhart III, Donald Carhart and Philip Carhart, Sr. and his sister Margaret Conway.

Funeral services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Chuck’s name to the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center, 113 Holland Avenue, Albany, NY 12208.  The family would like to thank the many healthcare providers at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center.  We can’t thank you all enough for your attentive care you gave our father.
