Christy Wyrtzen

Christy Wyrtzen passed away on July, 4, 2024. She was the daughter of Marianne Wolf and the late James Wyrtzen. She was a beloved friend, daughter, sister, and aunt.

Christy was born on March 10, 1969 in New York City. She spent her adult life in Albany, where she first moved to attend the St. Anne Institute, graduating in 1988. After studying art - which she continued to practice throughout her life - she attended Bryant Stratton Business School and subsequently worked as a customer service representative at ACS State and Local Solutions, a Business Coordinator at ING Group, a Secretary at Excelsior College, at Catalog Associate at JC Penny, and as a client representative for New York State of Health.

Christy savored life, whether it was through road trips, concerts, dinner with friends, copious mugs of coffee, or a frozen margarita. She loved music, films, and animals. Christy doted on her nieces and nephew, showering them with gifts from afar and hugs on visits to their homes in New Jersey. 

Christy had a strong sense of empathy, justice, and fairness. She was caring and loyal. Her cutting wit and boisterous laugh were hallmarks for get-togethers with friends and family as were the many stories she was always able to summon from her keen memory.

She is survived by her mother (Marianne), step-mother (Marcia), brothers (Andy and Dave), sisters-in-law (Sofia and Jen), nieces (Ava, Emma, and Olivia), nephew (Oscar), and dear friends. 

Family and friends are invited to remember Christy on Saturday July 13th from 2 to 4pm at the Wynantskill Funeral Home, 294 Whiteview Road, Wynantskill, NY 12198.
