David R. Demarest

Wynantskill-David R. Demarest, 51 passed away on August 8, 2022 at Samaritan Hospital. Born in Troy, he was the son to Ellen Hurley Demarest and the late Robert Demarest and the loving husband to Kimberly LaPlante Demarest.     

David was the co-owner and service manager at George L. LaPlante, Inc in Brunswick for many years with his wife Kimberly.

David enjoyed hunting, playing golf, NASCAR, the New York Rangers, the Dallas Cowboys, his camp on Lake Champlain, most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.   

In addition to his mother Ellen and his wife Kimberly, he is survived by his sons Joseph R. Demarest and Samuel G. Demarest, his siblings Barbara (Shawn) Keough of Florida, Maryellen (Mickey) Carl of Wynantskill and Robert (Deborah) Demarest of Wynantskill, his nephews Andrew Leonard, Jr, Christopher Leonard and Jacob Demarest, his mother-in-law Judi LaPlante, his step mother-in-law Tricia LaPlante, his sister-in-law Tammy Geibel, also survived by many friends.

David was predeceased by his father Robert, his father-in-law George LaPlante, Jr, his brother-in-law Matthew LaPlante, his grandparents Warren and Edith Hurley and Omer and Mary Demarest.

Family and friends are invited and may call from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday August 12, 2022 at Wynantskill Funeral Home 294 Whiteview Road, Wynantskill. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
