David M. Lentivech 31, died on December 14, 2023 at Albany Medical Center. After suffering complications from his longtime battle with diabetes, he passed away peacefully with his family by his side.
He was born in Troy, NY to parents Doug and Kathy, and raised in Grafton, NY with his younger brother James. After graduating from LaSalle Institute in Troy, NY he went on to receive a bachelor’s in Political Science at Siena College.
David was loving, compassionate, and charismatic. He kept his family close throughout his life, and also made new friends easily, quickly forming meaningful connections with others. He was incredibly creative, which he expressed through drawing, painting, murals, and many other projects. He also had a strong sense of personal style including the pride he had in his large sneaker collection. His other hobbies included playing soccer, exercising, and an inherited fandom of the Buffalo Bills. More than anything, he enjoyed time with his dog Lucky who gave and received from David an immeasurable amount of love since he was rescued from the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.
Following the recent passing of his father, David’s strength was a source of comfort for his family. David himself found joy through helping others. This year he made a deep impact for many displaced families working as a supervisor for DocGo’s migrant sheltering program. As in all things, David approached this role with passion, zeal, and heart going above and beyond to do whatever he could for others.
He is survived by his mother Kathy Lentivech and brother James Lentivech. He is also survived by his grandparents Alan and Lois Richardson, aunt Joan Simmons, and uncles Joe Lentivech and Christopher Richardson, as well as their families. David was predeceased by his father Doug Lentivech and his uncle Richard Lentivech.
Visiting hours for relatives and friends will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023 from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Wynantskill Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. The burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Wynantskill, NY immediately following the service.
Donations may be made in memory of David Lentivech to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.
