David A. Safford

EAST GREENBUSH - David A. Safford, 56 of East Greenbush, passed peacefully at home on Friday,

December 16, 2022. He is survived by the true joys of his life, his daughter Jenna M. Safford (Ian

Zacharewicz) of Rosedale, Maryland, his son Dylan Safford and stepdaughter Shawna Duguay, both of

Sterling, Massachusetts, beloved son of Barbara L (Metcalf) Safford; brother of Glenn (Lisa) Safford of

Winchendon, MA and Deacon Warren (Stephanie) Safford of Nassau, NY. as well as several cousins,

nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his father Ernest A

Safford of Averill Park, New York.

David was an incredibly skilled mechanic, being born in Sterling, Massachusetts he was a graduate of

Wachusett Regional High school, and moved to NY where he worked at Waste Management, Town of

North Greenbush Highway Department and St. Paul’s Center in Rensselaer. He was an enthusiastic Red

Sox and Patriots fan and loved watching sports, movies and listening to music. David had a special

adoration for animals and spent his time volunteering at the animal shelter, warming his heart and all of

the animals there. He also enjoyed fishing and camping and was a master of telling jokes.

Family and friends are invited on Monday December 26, 2022 from 11:00 to 12:00 pm with service to follow at 12:00 pm all at Wynantskill Funeral Home, 294 Whiteview Road, Wynantskill.
