Dennis J. Bailey, “Denny”, 84, of Wynantskill, NY, passed away peacefully into the arms of his Lord on March 27, 2026 at Van Rensselaer Manor Rehabilitation & Nursing Facility in Troy, NY, surrounded by his loving family. Dennis graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1959. He worked as a handler and distributor of print media for Williams Press and the Albany Times Union for over 30 years, retiring from the Albany Times Union in 2008. Dennis was a member of the Teamsters Local #126 Mailers Union.
Dennis was a devoted Catholic and faithful servant of his Lord. He loved country music and was an avid movie fan, particularly fond of classic western films. He enjoyed trips to the ocean with his family and loved building, carpentry, and anything “tinkering”. Dennis had a big personality and strove to make those around him smile and feel special.
Dennis was born in Troy, NY to James and Beatrice (Plumadore) Bailey. He was a long-time resident of Poestenkill, NY. Dennis is pre-deceased by his first wife Georgeann (Dan Smith) Mosher, his second wife Elaine Price, siblings Janice (Gus) Costello, Constance Newman, and Doris (James) Goodman, and lifelong friend Vincent Francese.
He is survived by his siblings Van (Cher-ri) Bailey, Sharon (Michael) Ozimek, and Bonny (Peter) Lupe; his four daughters, Deborah (Dan) Holser of Averill Park, Donna (Alan) Gould of Wynantskill, Denise (Frank) Zibura of Greenville, NY, and Dawn (Tim) Doherty of East Greenbush; his nine grandchildren, Vanessa Mosher, Brianna Holser, Devin Holser, Amanda (Gould) Hepp, Derek (Jossette Brown) Gould, Zachary Zibura, Cody Zibura, Kathryn Doherty, and Lauren Doherty; eight great-grandchildren, and survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to give special thanks to the dedicated, skillful team at Van Rensselaer Manor Rehabilitation & Nursing Facility who cared for Dennis with compassion and grace.
Services for Dennis will be held at Wynantskill Funeral Home (294 Whiteview Road, Wynantskill, NY) on Wednesday April 1, 2026. Calling hours will be held from 4-7pm, with a prayer service at 6:45pm.
