Dennis Rizzo, Jr. Obituary

Wynantskill-Dennis J. Rizzo, Jr., 52 passed away on December 31, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Albany, he was the son of Dennis J. Rizzo, Sr. and Dawn Mooney Rizzo and the loving husband to Alicia McLean Rizzo.

Dennis was a Vice President at MVP Healthcare Insurance in Schenectady.

In addition to his mother, father and wife Alicia, he is survived by his children Nolan John (Morgan Maloney) Rizzo, Kennedy Allison (Jeff Taylor) Rizzo and Piper Jameson Rizzo, his siblings Kristina (Billy) Barber, Kara (Jose Correa) Rizzo and Michael Rizzo, his mother in law Virginia McLean, his father in law John McLean, his sisters in law Jacquelyn (Greg) Bennett and Jeanette Basos, his nieces and nephews, Jordan, Shawn, Justin, Cameron, Riley, Ethan, Isabella, Reese and Matteo, his beloved friends Larry and Kimberly Kaufman and James and Tracey Carter.

Dennis was truly a light in everyone who knew him’s life.  He found joy in the little things and could always find a way to put a positive spin on a negative situation.  He was the most loving, kind, and selfless man.  He enjoyed spending all of his free time with his beloved wife and children.  At home he loved grilling and using his smoker in the summertime.  He loved taking care of the yard and hosting large family pool parties in it - as he would jokingly call it “Rizzopaloozas”.  He loved watching his future son-in-law, Jeff, play hockey on Friday nights and watching the Dallas Cowboys on Sundays with a beer or dirty martini in hand.  His favorite hobby was golfing and he was always excited to talk about his weekly golf league.  He loved long drives and traveling, especially to the OBX.  When he was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma all of his favorite things to do were taken from him.  He will be missed dearly here, physically, but we find peace in knowing that he is no longer suffering and get back to doing all the things he loved in heaven.
