Doris Mucci, 92, died peacefully in her sleep on
Sunday, July 10, 2022, with her family at her side. Born in
Queens, N.Y., she was the daughter of Elizabeth Holderbaum
Diehl and Friedolin Diehl. She was a legal secretary before
she met and married the love of her life, John Mucci (aka John
Stewart on Channel 10 television), relocating to the Capital
District 60+ years ago where she focused on raising her
children. She was predeceased by her husband John (2011).
She is survived by her daughters Karen Mucci and Tina Mucci;
granddaughters, Jennifer Pastore (Dale) and Lane Simonin;
her cat Lucy, as well as her sister Gail Juda (Steve), brother
Bruce Diehl and several nieces and nephews. She was active
in the community, volunteering at the Gift Shop at Samaritan
Hospital for 50+ years. She was a long-time member of the
Country Club of Troy where she enjoyed spending time with
friends and playing in several golf leagues (being known for
her putting skills). She was also an avid bowler, bowling for
many years at what is now Uncle Sam Lanes. She touched
many people and her strength and positivity were an
inspiration to all. She will remain in the hearts of everyone
that knew her. Services will be private and at the convenience
of the family. A remembrance may be held at a later date. In
lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Doris’s memory
