Dorothy M. (Ethier) Conroy

Dorothy Mary Conroy, 76 Years old, Troy, New York, Passed away surrounded by her loving family on November 1, 2024.

Dorothy was born on February 21, 1948 in Joliette, Quebec, Canada to Earl and Rita Ethier.

After Dorothy Graduated from Catholic High School in 1967, she began working at The New York Telephone Company as a clerical worker. She then worked at Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center in Troy as a nurse's aid and finished her career at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute as the Box Office Manager.

In 1968, Dorothy met James Conroy while dancing at “The Question Mark”  in downtown Troy. Dorothy and James married in August 1970 and went on to have two children, Kelly and Scott. 

Dorothy dedicated 30 years to RPI before she retired in 2018 and spent her time with her children, grandchildren, husband, and her best friends. 

Dorothy was predeceased by Rita Ethier (mother),  Earl Ethier (father), Jerry Ethier (brother). She is survived by James Conroy (husband), Shirley Ethier (sister), Jude Ethier (sister in law), Kelly Beaulac (daughter), Jon Beaulac (son in law), Scott Conroy (son), Emily Conroy (granddaughter), Gwendolyn Conroy (granddaughter), Grace Beaulac (granddaughter), Abigail Beaulac (granddaughter), Madeline Conroy (granddaughter), and Katherine Beaulac (granddaughter).

Services will be held at St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill on November 9th at 10:00 am. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Parkinson's Foundation- an organization that Dorothy felt strongly about. www.michaeljfox.org
