Wynantskill-Edward M. Klimkewicz, 80 passed away on Wednesday May 31, 2023 at Albany Medical Center.
Born and raised in Albany, he was the son to the late Stanley Klimkewicz and Stella Bierko Klimkewicz and the loving husband to Cheryl LeFebvre Klimkewicz.
Edward attended St. Casmere’s School, St. Joseph’s School, Hudson Valley Community College and SUNY. He served in The United States Navy from 1964 to 1968. He worked for New York State Office of General Services for many years retiring in 2002.
Ed enjoyed golf, bowling, basketball, fishing, darts and traveling with cruises included, he was a member of The Elks and Emerald Club.
In addition to his wife Cheryl, he is survived by his children Lisa (James) Davey and Michael (Rebecca) Klimkewicz, his stepchildren Carly Iannone and Edward Iannone, his grandchildren Katherine and Luke Davey, Mara, Audrey and Emma Collins, his sister Maryann (Edward) Duncan, also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother and father, Edward was predeceased by his brothers Richard (Eileen) Klimkewicz and Robert (Arlene) Klimkewicz.
Family and friends are invited from 9:00 am to 10:00 am with funeral mass to follow at 10:00 am on Tuesday June 6, 2023 all at St. Jude the Apostle Church 43 Brookside Avenue, Wynantskill. Interment with military honors will follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
