Elmer J. Burt, Sr

Elmer J. Burt, Sr., (Sonny) 91 passed away on March 18, 2023 surrounded by his loving children.

Born in Wynantskill, NY on May 3, 1931 to Elsie Goyer Burt and John Alden Burt.

Sonny served his country in The United States Army.

Early in his life Sonny worked at Manning Paper Mill from there he worked for Millbrook Breads as a truck driver and retired from Freihofer’s Bakery.

He and his wife enjoyed their retirement as avid campers.

He is predeceased by his loving wife Anne A. Yetto Burt, his grandson Nelson D. Bruno, Jr., and great granddaughter Julia Anne Burt, his two sisters Myrtle Miller and Nancy Hannigan.

Sonny is survived by his son Elmer (John) Burt, Jr wife Lorene, his daughter Maryjo and husband Nelson Bruno, his seven grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren, his brother James Burt, also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to services with military honors at 10:30 am on Monday March 27, 2023 at the Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. Funeral procession will meet at the cemetery office at 10:15 am. Please visit www.wynantskillfh.com.
