Etta Mae Welch, 85 passed away on Friday August 27, 2021 at Samaritan Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Etta Mae was born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late William Marsh and Marion Slingerlands Marsh and the loving wife to the late Frank Welch, he died in 1987.
Etta Mae is survived by her children Jacqueline Brown (Aaron) of Wynantskill, Frank “Bobby” (Tonjua) Welch, Jr. and William (Debbie) Welch of Cohoes, her grandchildren Michael (Dana) Goyer, Christopher (Amanda) Goyer, Heather (Mike) Nadoraski, Taylor Welch, Brittany (Shanna) Welch and Michelle (Ryan Coulter) Welch, her thirteen great grandchildren, her loving partner in crime sister-in-law Marilyn Welch, she is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother, father and husband Frank, she was predeceased by her siblings Edward Marsh, Lois Loux, Patricia Sigwarth and Harriet Keller.
Etta Mae was the epitome of strength and resilience. Despite many health battles over the years, Etta always persevered and never let anything hold her back. Her energy and zest for life remained present through her final days.
She enjoyed being surrounded by her loving family who she shared many cherished memories with. Etta Mae was proud of the life she and her late husband built together and cherished raising their children. She was blessed to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will continue to carry her legacy forward. Her favorite place in the world was Lake George where she spent summers camping, swimming and enjoying the beauty of the lake surrounded by her family and those she loved. Wherever she went, she brought her wit and sense of humor along. She will forever be remembered for her ability to make the whole room smile with her contagious laughter.
Family and friends are invited and may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday August 31, 2021 at the Wynantskill Funeral Home 294 Whiteview Road, Wynantskill, NY. Funeral mass will be celebrated 9:30 am on Wednesday at St. Jude The Apostle Church 43 Brookside Avenue, Wynantskill. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy.
