Floyd did so much more than just drive bus. He played in amd for so many groups and loved teaching others banjo, he refinished wooden floors, loved working with his grandchildren and great grands ,loved his garden, helped neighbors with digging potatoes, loved the children he transported every day, carried my son Dan almost to the door when Dan fell asleep coming home on the bus...Such a special friend. An inspiration to others to keep going. And be cheerful while you go. Love and prayers for the family in your grief.

Floyd got my brother, sisters and I safely to school for many years, even in treacherous conditions. But he was so much more than just my bus driver - he was like a bonus grandfather. And our relationship continued well beyond our school years. He was always invited to family events. I saw him last just two years ago at my father's 82nd birthday party. He brought his fiddle, of course, and entertained us. He was one of happiest people I ever met and I'm grateful for the memories of Floyd that will live forever in my heart.

Condolences to Floyd's family and friends. He will truly be missed. I grew up on Babcock Lake. Floyd was my bus driver for many years. How lucky was I? I have fond memories of long bus rides and conversations with him as he drove the bus. Floyd would on occasion play banjo music tapes. My mom and dad kept in touch with Floyd over the years and I tried to do the same. He visited me in my home in Bennington many years ago and a few years ago I heard him play the banjo with his group of musicians. I also had the pleasure of visiting Floyd and Mary at their home in Berlin many years ago. Floyd was one of a kind and I will never forget his laugh and smile. Prayers to all.
