Gerald L. Gibson (Jerry) 67 of Averill Park NY passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones after a long three and half year battle of cancer.
Born in the state of Illinois, then later moved to Averill Park NY where he attended and graduated Averill Park High School.
Jerry was a hardworking, dedicated father and husband. He worked for Deman & Davis steel mill in Albany Ny for 25 years, he later worked for Arcadia Steel of Green Island Ny where he did all of the buying and selling of materials.
Jerry attended Snyders Lake Community church faithfully every Sunday as he truly enjoyed it. Jerry was an avid fisherman his entire life and was the Secretary and member of the Greenbush Bass Association for 35 years. He loved going to and being part of his grandchildren’s fishing tournaments, he would always help them get untangled and teach them how to bait their own hooks. Most of the time they won first place.
Jerry was the most kind, positive and generous person anyone could ever meet.
Jerry is survived by his son Jeremy (Angela) Gibson and their five children Kaiden, Preston, River, Lorenzo and his princess Willow.
Also survived by his son Tony(Amber) Gibson and their three children Killian, Vada and Thaddeus.
Jerry is also survived by his three brothers Jimmy, Danny and John Gibson with many nieces and nephews.
Jerry is predeceased by his mother Marlene Gibson(Sanford) and his father Gerald L Gibson.
Jerry is also predeceased by his loving wife of 40 years Sandra M Gibson(Colello). They had a role model marriage that each of us looked up to and idolized. The two of them together truly showed us what a marriage and love is supposed to be.
Jerry will be remembered for the incredible impact he made upon his family, friends and colleagues.
