It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of James R. Blaisdell, 58, of Wynantskill, on June 24, 2025, beloved husband of Karen (Angrisano) Blaisdell. Jim passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous 4-year battle with pancreatic cancer.
Jim was born on February 10, 1967 to C. Kent & Martha (Nye) Blaisdell. He grew up in Castleton, NY, graduating from Maple Hill High School and Hudson Valley Community College. Jim was a hard-working laborer and loyal employee of M. Sullivan Construction for 35 years and a member of the Laborers Local 190 Union. He coached his son and many other great kids for years at Twin Town Little League and CYO basketball. Jim enjoyed sports, snowmobiling, mowing his lawn, but most especially spending time with his family. He always looked forward to the times when he and his brothers were all together and the fun times that ensued. So many fun and special memories at Mom & Dad’s house.
In addition to his wife and parents, Jim is survived by his two sons, Devin James Blaisdell (Ryen Miron) and Matthew Louis Blaisdell (Kylie Green), of whom he was so very proud. Also surviving are his brothers, Steven (Kim), Scott (Mollie) and Robert (Catherine) Blaisdell, his brother-in-law Kevin (Debi) Angrisano, nephews Christopher, Zachary, Daniel, Zane, Neil & Owen Blaisdell, Timothy & Anthony Payton, and Evan Baldwin, and nieces Donata & Kira Angrisano, and Brooke Baldwin. He was pre-deceased by his in-laws, Louis & Patricia Angrisano.
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Madhavi Kambam and staff at NYOH Patroon Creek, and our wonderful team from The Community Hospice for their excellent care and compassion.
Family and friends are invited and may call on Friday, June 27, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Wynantskill Funeral Home, 294 Whiteview Road, Wynantskill, with a service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to The Community Hospice, 310 South Manning Boulevard, Albany, NY 12208 in Jim’s memory. “You fought hard, but now it’s time to rest. “
