James Phillip Fennelly, 90 entered into rest on October 11,2023. Born at home on June 29, 1933, he was the son of Thomas Francis Fennelly and Mary Agnes Flood Fennelly of Troy.
Jim had lived in Wynantskill for the past 70 years in his home until suffering a massive stroke in September. Jim had just celebrated his 90th birthday.
Jim was very active in the town in his early years, he was a member of the Wynantskill Volunteer Fire Department, North Greenbush Ambulance and he and his wife Betty oversaw the KIllman Drum & Bugle Corp.
Jim attended Catholic Central High School and Russell Sage night school. he joined the National Guard 205 support group at 16 where he rose to CSM. Jim was employed at Norton Company in Watervliet in the making area. He was also President for Local 17. He was respected member of the community with strong opinions, after he retired he sent his time at the Troy Y.M.C.A. with his friends Jim, Sue, Irwin, Matt and many others exercising and talking politics
He is survived by his devoted daughter Judith Fennelly-Agopovich, (John Agopovich former spouse), his grandsons John and Evan of Massachusetts, also Joel and Courtney Fennelly, as well many nieces and their spouses. A special thank you to Jim and Liz Conley and their beautiful children for making he days brighter and all of his neighbors Matt Hain and family, Jim Doring, and Bob Paul and Andrea Gallerie, his hair stylist.
Jim was predeceased by his wife Betty Rose Bennett Fennelly, who past in 1987, his sibling Thomas, John, and Marie Fennelly Casale and her husband Nick.
Calling and viewing hours are respectively omitted. Condolence cards may be sent to Judith at her Wynantskill residence or grandsons in Massachusetts.
