Janet M. (Cozzy) Napier

Janet M. Napier, 71, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at her home surrounded by family on Tuesday January 14, 2025.  Janet grew up in Bethlehem, NY and was the daughter of the late Ida Ruth Cozzy (Pennington) and John Cozzy.  Growing up was never a dull moment for Janet.   Her family dynamic was strong.  Janet is one of the seven children from Ida and John.   Janet now leaves behind her siblings Nancy, Jackie, John and Jimmy to join her sisters Joanie and Mary in heavenly peace.

Janet worked at Colonie Town Court for years before deciding on a career change.    Janet was an active member of the ladies auxiliary at Verdoy Fire Department for years.  Janet enjoyed bowling in her spare time and made a lot of her friendships at the bowling alley.  Janet enjoyed her retirement years with her family and traveling.  Janet often enjoyed going on cruises with her husband Robert. Her latest adventure was a trip to Las Vegas last year with her husband.   Janet loved being a mom.  Seeing the enjoyment of kids smiling was one of her favorite things to do.  She loved dressing up at holiday parties or giving presents out to see children smile.  In recent years, Janet’s joy was watching her grandchildren and spending time with them.    

Janet is survived by her husband Robert, her son Richard, her daughter Robyn (Michael), and her grandchildren Delilah and Colton. 

There are no scheduled services.  A celebration of life will be held at Verdoy Fire Department at a later date.
