John Robert Miorin

Wynantskill, John Robert Miorin (Jack), passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday December 13, 2022 at The Eddy Heritage. Born January 7, 1941 and raised in Wynantskill. He was the son of the late John H. Miorin and Shirley Alber Miorin. He attended Sacred Heart, LaSalle Institute and Troy High School. He served in the United States

Navy in the Middle East with the Commander of the Middle East Forces aboard the USS Greenwich Bay. He was especially proud of being a participant of the US Navy marching honor guard for John F. Kennedy’s inauguration in 1961. He was a maintenance supervisor with Ford Motor in Green Island, NY and Plymouth, Michigan, retiring in 1990. From retirement John would spend his winters in Lakeland, Florida enjoying his latest RV, casinos and friends. John is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia Olchowy Miorin, daughters Maureen Miorin Cunningham (Anthony) of Hillsborough, NC and Melissa Miorin Sutton (Derek) and son Michael John Miorin (Sandra) of Wynantskill. His grandsons Iain P. Cunningham (Haley Rank), Denver, CO., M. Jacob Miorin and Dylan L. Sutton of Wynantskill, grand-daughters Jessye Cunningham Fincham (James) of Woodstock, GA, Samantha M. Miorin of West Sand Lake, Delaney C. Sutton and Demi J. Sutton both of Wynantskill and his great-grandson, Julian R. Fincham, Woodstock, GA. John is survived by his sisters Carole Nichols of Troy and Mary Ellen

Brennan (Daniel) of Schenectady and brother Michael Miorin (late Nancy) of Wynantskill. He was predeceased by his brother Charles Miorin (Kathy), his sisters Linda Hyde and Patricia Vigeant (Edward). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Due to cemetery floral restrictions, memorial donations in John’s name may be made to St. Jude the Apostle Church, 43 Brookside Avenue, Wynantskill, NY 12198, as John was one of the original altar servers in a tent before the church was built. Family and friends are invited and may call from 4:00 pm  to 7:00 pm on Thursday December 22, 2022 at the Wynantskill Funeral Home, 294 Whiteview Road, Wynantskill. Funeral mass 10:00 am on Friday December 23, 2022 at St. Jude the Apostle Church. Burial will follow at Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.  Please visit www.wynantskillfh.com.
