Lois A. (Dugrenier) Terry

Lois A. Terry, 73 passed away surrounded by her family on
Saturday August 9, 2025 after a valiant two-year battle with pulmonary
fibrosis.
Born in Troy, she was the daughter to the late Orville Dugrenier and
Mary Marino Dugrenier and the loving wife of 43 years to Joseph Terry.
Lois was a graduate of CCHS class of 1970, attended HVCC, SUNY
Oneonta, and SUNY Albany where she studied to become a teacher. She
began the first three years of her career in Australia, taught math at
Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk and served as a college professor, retiring
from Hudson Valley Community College where she received the
Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Faculty Service. She cherished
her colleagues at HVCC.
Lois was always an active member of the local community, enjoying
membership with NYSMATYC, serving at St. Jude’s with their youth
ministry and fair trade programs, the CCHS Phonathon, the RCDA
Vocations Committee, and the Van Rensselaer Garden Club.
In addition to her husband Joseph of Wynantskill, she is survived by her
children Alexander (Rebecca) Terry of Wynantskill and Natalie (Erik)
Terry-Haag of Hermitage, PA., her siblings Edmund Dugrenier, Janice
(Eugene) Orlowski, Andrew (Debra) Dugrenier and Jeffrey (Chris)
Dugrenier, her grand cats T-Bone, Lyla and Princess. She is also
survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Lois was predeceased by her mother, father and her three special aunts
Joan Fobare, Rita Cinney and Shirley Marino.
On Thursday August 14, 2025 family and friends are invited to wake
and funeral services at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 43 Brookside
Avenue, Wynantskill. Calling hours will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
with a funeral mass at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in
memory of Lois may be made to St. Jude the Apostle Church or the Van
Rensselaer Garden Club.
