Marcia J. (Wright) Wainwright

On May 29, 2019, with her children by her side, Marcia W. Wainwright joined her late husband Morton A. Wainwright at the heavenly bowling alley. Born in Syracuse, NY, Marcia was the daughter of the late Alfred and Jeanne Wright.

Marcia was a graduate of the Milne school and Brockport University. After several years as a physical education teacher, she was a travel agent for 13 years. She was also a member of the North Greenbush Ambulance Service and a Charter Member of the Classie Lassies girls softball league. She originated the prayer shawl ministry in North Greenbush,and was an active member of the 1st Reformed Church in Wynantskill for 60 years.

Survivors include her children Jeffrey (Judi) Wainwright of Cohoes, and Amy (Bruce) Cocca of Chittenango, as well as her grandsons, Jason and Tyler Cocca and Brian Wainwright, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Stephen Wainwright on May 12, 2019.

Marcia was also loved by her extended family, the staff at the Home of the Good Shepherd in Malta, NY. Her family is deeply grateful for the care she received while a resident there.

Funeral services will be at 11 am on Monday June 3, 2019 at the 1st Reformed Church Wynantskill, located at 413 Main Avenue. Calling hours will be from 9-11 am prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, Marcia has requested memorial donations in her name be made to the 1st Reformed Church of Wynantskill.
