Marie G. Hayes

Wynantskill-Marie G. Hayes, 96 passed away on December 24, 2017 at Teresian House in Albany. Born in Albany, she was the daughter to Thomas Houlihan and Lena Clarmont Houlihan and the loving wife to the late John J. Hayes.

Marie Graduated from Catholic Central High School, class of 1938. She worked in advertising for Wells & Coverly, Inc.  Marie was a parishioner of St. Jude the Apostle Church and a member of the Rosary Altar Society. She was also a longtime volunteer at Seton Auxiliary at St. Mary’s Hospital in Troy.

Marie is survived by her two sons John T. Hayes of Clifton Park and Reverend Thomas J. Hayes of Halfmoon, her grandsons John (Stacia) Hayes of Poestenkill, Stephen (Michele) Hayes of West Sand Lake and Matthew (Stephanie) Hayes of Poestenkill, her great grandchildren Stephen, Jessica, Virgil, Norah and Jackson Hayes, also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband John J. Hayes, she was predeceased by her brothers Thomas and Victor Houlihan and her great grandson John T. Hayes.  

Funeral mass at 10:00 am on Friday December 29, 2017 at St. Jude the Apostle Church. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Wynantskill. Calling hours will be Thursday, December 28th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Wynantskill Funeral Home 294 Whiteview Road, Wynantskill.
