Marjorie (Armstrong) Schriner

Wynantskill-Marjorie Armstrong Schriner, 91, entered into eternal rest on May 10, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  Born and raised in Troy, she was the daughter of the late John Armstrong and Pauline Esser Armstrong and the beloved wife of the late John F.  Schriner. 

Marjorie attended and graduated from Troy High School and Hudson Valley Community College. She was a registered nurse for Samaritan Hospital for many years. 

Marjorie was a member of the First Reformed Church in Wynantskill. She was a longtime member of the Troy Women’s Bowling Association, youth bowling instructor at HiWay Recreation, a volunteer with the Albany Stratton VA Bowling Program, Wynantskill Seniors, and was Queen Mother of the Purple Turtles Red Hat Society. She enjoyed golf and she loved to travel, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.  Marjorie is survived by her children JoAnn (William) Powers, Judy Shea and John (Lynn) Schriner, her 7 grandchildren, her 11 great grandchildren, her brother William (Sue) Armstrong and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her mother, father and husband, she was predeceased by her siblings John Armstrong, Elsie Davis, Lillian Christiansen and Marion Guskie. 

Marge’s family thanks her home health care aides and Community Hospice for the wonderful, loving care they gave her. 

Family and friends are invited and may call on Friday May 14, 2021 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Wynantskill Funeral Home 294 Whiteview Road, Wynantskill. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm at funeral home with Pastor Bethany Popkes.
