Mary T. (Higgins) McDade

Mary T. McDade, 91 of Troy, passed away at home on July 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Mary was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Thomas P. and Johanna Higgins. She graduated from St. Brendan’s Diocesan High School, and then was employed by N.Y. Telephone Co. She transferred to Troy, N.Y., and lived in Wynantskill. Mary retired after 32 years of service with the telephone company.

Mary was very involved with St. Jude the Apostle Church and the church community. She enjoyed going to the Wynantskill Seniors and the Eastside Seniors. Mary enjoyed events and playing board games with many friends throughout the years.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded by her loving husband of 54 years, James A. McDade. Her infant daughter, Mary Ann, and her brother Thomas Higgins.  She is survived by her loving son James P. McDade and daughter-in-law Ginger, grandchildren Michael, Mary Beth, James I. (Jimmy), Zackary, Margaret, and Madelynn. Beloved niece Mary Jacobs, her sister-in-law Ruth McDade, and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited and may call from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday July 16, 2025 at Wynantskill Funeral Home, 294 Whiteview Road, Wynantskill. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am on Thursday, 17, 2025 at St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill, NY. Burial will follow at Saratoga National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers due to cemetery restrictions memorial donations in memory of Mary may be made to St. Jude The Apostle Church 43 Brookside Avenue, Wynantskill, NY 12198.
