Snyder’s Lake- Mary E. Rosencrans, 72, passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, August 17, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born in Troy on May 27, 1949, she was the daughter of the late William and Clara Goetz Gardner. Mary was raised in Watervliet and attended Saint Bridget’s and Watervliet High. Having spent many of her childhood years at her family’s camp on Snyder’s Lake, she moved there in 1974 with her young family into a home they built She enjoyed the remainder of her life in that welcoming home, right near several of her sisters and husband's family . Mary started her employment at Sterling Drug and then moved on to work at the local Villa Valente restaurant for 25 years. She then became a banquet manager at The College of Saint Rose until retirement 2014. Mary was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill and was a member of the Watervliet Elks. Known for being hard working, she always made time for camping with her family, swimming with her grandkids, boating on Schroon Lake, spending time at her camp in Lake George, and going on family vacations to the ocean. Her generosity, loving heart and straightforward approach to life were her trademark. After overcoming several heart issues, cancer took hold and spread to her liver. Mary is survived by her wonderful husband of 54 years Robert Rosencrans. She was the loving mother of John (Debbie) Rosencrans and Dawn Rosencrans, grandmother of seven and great grandmother of two. She is also survived by her loving siblings of Patricia (late Henry) Mangene, Susan (late John) Dupont all of Wynantskill, Debbie (late Rick) Shevy, Ronald (Linda) Gardner of North Troy, and Timothy (Patty) Gardner of Watervliet, she is also survived by her extended family. She was predeceased by her brothers William Gardner, Robert (late Thelma) Gardner, Fred (Diane) Gardner, and her sisters Connie (Dave) Baker and Janet Schroeder (John Fisher). Family and friends are invited and may call on Saturday August 21, 2021 from 9 AM-11 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill. Funeral service will follow calling hours at 11 AM.
