Merwyn L. Rich

West Sand Lake; Merwyn L. Rich 87 of West Sand Lake passed away peacefully at home on September 13, 2025.

Born November 30, 1937, in Fort Edward, NY. He was the son of late Raymond and Wilma (Decker) Rich.

He married Mary A. Catone, Apil 13, 1958, of West Sand Lake, NY, and they spent 67 years together.

Merwyn, worked for Behr Mannings, Nashau and Norton until retiring.

He was a member of the volunteer Wynantskill Fire Department.

He enjoyed camp fires, going to the car races and many other outdoor activities.  

He was predeceased by his parents, brother Ronald M. Rich, Sisters Doris Faith Rich, Rowena Ribbins.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Mary A. (Catone) Rich; his 3 children; Merwyn J. Rich, Rose F Rich (Paul) and Diane Rich. Grandchildren: Lindsey, Alyssa, Jessia Rich, Stephanie Panetta (Anthony), Daniel and Dylan Wolfe, Anna and Steven Fiske. Great; Emily, Kaylee, Lilly Shaffer, Madison and Daniel Wolfe Jr., Conor Despart, Kamryn, Kayden, Kiernan Terry. Sister: Naomi Belrose, Sharlene Rich (Wife of late Ronald Rich) Great Great Grandson Grayson Holmes,

Family and friends are invited and may call on Thursday September 18, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Wynantskill Funeral Home 294 Whiteview Road, Wynantskill. Funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rensselaer.
