Michael C. Colavecchio, 80 of Brunswick, passed away at his home on Monday August 29, 2022.
Michael was born on July 16, 1942 in Troy, he was the son of Michael Colavecchio and Stella Palumbo Colavecchio.
After graduating from Catholic Central High School in 1960, Michael served in the National Guard and began his career as a union sprinkler fitter, Local 669 working throughout the Capital District. He also operated his own fire sprinkler business and an Italian import store.
In 1974 Michael met his best friend Barbara Occhialino, Michael and Barbara married in 1977 and enjoyed 45 years together. Michael loved to cook, garden, travel and meet with the Beman Park Lunch Group.
Michael was predeceased by his mother and father, sister Josephine Colavecchio, and father-in-law Anthony Occhialino. He is survived by his beloved wife Barbara, mother-in-law Ruth Occhialino, sister-in-law Judy Egan (John, Jr), nephew John C. Egan III, nieces Jessica Egan (Scott Dangler), Christina Chang (Kai) and Shelby Rodriguez (Nicholas), great nephew Grant, great nieces Elizabeth, Virginia, Maeve, and James, also survived by many cousins, friends and relatives and his dog Molly.
Family and Friends are invited and may call from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday September 1, 2022 at the Wynantskill Funeral Home 294 Whiteview Road, Wynantskill. Funeral mass will be 10:00 am on Friday September 2, 2022 at Our Lady of Victory 55 North Lake Avenue, Troy. Burial to follow St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy.
