Michael R. Lyons

Wynantskill-Michael R. Lyons, 76, It is with great sorrow that we mark the passing of Mike, husband, father, grandfather, and friend on August 20, 2022 at Samaritan Hospital.

Born in Troy to Frank and Emma (Solini) Lyons on September 4, 1945. Mike was a graduate of CBA and

the College of St. Rose. He began a career in banking at National Commercial Bank in Albany and spent many years at Troy Savings Bank until his retirement.

The “loves” of Mike’s life were his family, his friends, and the NY Yankees – not always in that order…

Mike became known as “Lazarus” to his close friends referring to his many comebacks from illness. He

would want everyone to know that he considered himself blessed by the family and friends in his life

and lived by his oft made comment – “It is, what it is.”

Mike is survived by his father Frank J. Lyons, his wife Martha (Glasheen) Lyons, his daughters and son in

laws, Sara (Mike) Stecyk, Meghan (John) Lockwood, and Emily (Dustin) Manny, as well as the joy of his

life – his grandsons Michael, Peter, Cooper, Sawyer, Dean and Rocco.

Mike was blessed with many friends and will be missed by all. Their friendships were ever so important

to him. We know that he will live on every time he is remembered by us all and spoken of with a smile.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 25, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Wynantskill Funeral

Home, 294 Whiteview Road, Wynantskill. A memorial service with be held on Thursday, August 25, at

6:00 p.m. following calling hours.
