Milton (Bob) Austin Jr, formerly of Wynantskill and Adirondack, passed away on Friday March 9, 2018 at Samaritan Hospital. Born in Troy on September 8, 1931 he was the son of Milton Austin Sr and Mildred Lideman Austin. Milton served in the United States Airforce in the Korean War from 1951 to 1955. He lived in Wynantskill for 65 years and retired to the Adirondacks on Schroon Lake in 1996. He loved the mountains and lakes, he was an avid fisherman and hunter. Milton worked for Allegheny Steel and the United States Post Office, he ran a car dealership in Wynantskill for 27 years. Milton is survived by his daughter Shari LaVergne of North Creek, his grandsons James LaVergne of Lake Luzerne and Phillip LaVergne of Glens Falls, his great grandsons Gaege, Kaele and Mason, his nephew Paul Fawthrop of Townsend, Montana and his niece Deborah Titilo of Saratoga Springs. Milton was predeceased by his sister Betty Fawthrop and his longtime companion Shirley Dawes. Funeral services will be private for family. Burial will be at Woodside Cemetery in Poestenkill.
