Robert G. Wagner

Poestenkill- Robert Grant Wagner, 61, passed away on August 24, 2021 surrounded by his loving family after a short illness.

Bob “Bobby” Wagner was born in Troy, New York, raised in Poestenkill on the family farm.  Bob and his wife and daughter resided in Pittstown, NY.  Bob graduated from Tamarac High School in 1979 and went on to graduate from HVCC and Central Connecticut.  After graduating from college, Bob went back home to partner in the family business & took great pride in working for Wagner Farms in Poestenkill NY.  

Bob was a parishioner of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Poestenkill.  Bob enjoyed a successful football career in Tamarac High School, HVCC and Central Connecticut.  He received many accolades during his football career, and was later inducted into the Tamarac High School Hall of Fame in 2019.  Bob also enjoyed hosting Hayrides for friends & family that became an annual tradition at Wagner Farms.

Bob was survived by his loving wife Kimberly Haydn Wagner and loving daughter Haydn Wagner; mother Louise Weyrick Wagner of Poestenkill.  Survived by his brothers Tom (Sue) Wagner of Brunswick, Mark (Diane) Wagner of Brunswick, Peter (Marlene) Wagner of Poestenkill.  He was also survived by several loving nieces & nephews. Bob was predeceased by his father A. Robert Wagner.

Family and friends are invited and may call from 2-5 pm on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at the Wynantskill Funeral Home, 294 Whiteview Road, Wynantskill, NY 12198. Private services will take place for family only. Burial will be private at Eagle Mills Cemetery.
