Ronald P. Benson

Ronald P. Benson passed away on July 3, 2021 at the age of 60.

Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Marshall and Ann Benson, and the husband of Susan Benson.

Ronald graduated from Averill Park High School in 1978, and went on to play football at Jacksonville State University in Alabama.

Ronald was the VP of Engineering and Compliance for Interstate Waste Services in Teaneck, NJ for many years.

He was an avid New York Jets fan, loved to grill, had a great sense of humor that could make anyone laugh, but what he loved most was his family.

In addition to his wife, Susan, he is survived by his children: Kayleigh (Andrew) Sawicki of Clifton Park, Shelby (Dane Menia) Benson of Clifton Park, Ryan (Amanda) Benson of Virginia, Sharif Mohamed of Brunswick, Richard Bishop of Brunswick, his granddaughter Clara Mae Sawicki, and his twin brother Donald (Donna) Benson of Latham.

Ronald was predeceased by his mother, father, and brother Frank Benson.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at 9:30 am on Wednesday July 7, 2021 at St. Jude The Apostle Church 43 Brookside Avenue, Wynantskill, with Reverend Anthony Ligato officiating.
