Ronald R. Wilson

Ronald R. Wilson, 73 passed away on May 26, 2021 surrounded by his loving family at his home after a long illness.

Born and raised in Wynantskill, he was the son of the late C. Ronald Wilson and Arlene Finley Wilson and the loving husband to Darlene Brundige Wilson.

Ronald graduated from LaSalle Institute, class of 1967. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1973. He worked at the New York State Office of General Services prior to his retirement.

Ronald was a proud life member of the Wynantskill Fire Department, he held many official positions, most recently Past Captain of Fire Police Squad, he was a member and past Vice President of the North Greenbush Ambulance Association, a member of the American Legion Post 1489 in Wynantskill, and he also volunteered at Gerrittsen Beach Fire Department in Brooklyn, NY.

In addition to his wife Darlene, he is survived by his children Joseph (Marcie) Wilson of Sound Beach, LI, Nicole (Chris) Wilson-Sawyer of Clifton Park and Shannon Holman of Wynantskill, his grandchildren Arianna, Caleb, Payton, Charlie, Hailey and Joseph, his siblings Daniel (Sandee) Wilson, David (Nancy) Wilson, Warren Wilson, Jay (Colleen) Wilson and Mary Lisa (Gary) Thornquist, also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends are invited and may call on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Wynantskill Funeral Home 294 Whiteview Road, Wynantskill. Funeral services Wednesday 10:00 am at funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy.
