Scott Cooper Obituary

Scott Cooper was suddenly called home to the Lord, surrounded by his closest family, on the morning of May 27th.

Scott lived much of his life in West Sand Lake and surrounding areas.  He attended Averill Park High School before moving on to a life of things he loved to do.  One thing most will remember about Scott was his avid love of the outdoors and all things motorized.  From fishing to snowmobiles, Scott was always on the move!  Scott was also known as quite the tinkerer.  His infectious love of music, building computers, NASA and astronomy, remote control cars, and of course launching rockets into the sky, will remain treasured memories for those who knew him best.  Above all things, Scott truly loved his family and friends.  Always willing to give what he could to support and love those around him, Scott will be sorely missed.

As a survivor of pancreatic cancer for over a decade, Scott was also a “Whipple Warrior”.  He took great pride in beating his cancer to remain here with his extended family and friends. To Scott’s fellow warriors and survivors, Scott would want you all to know it was not pancreatic cancer that caused his final moments with us.

As per Scott’s wishes, his final viewing and funeral proceedings will be open only to those who shared in his sincere friendship and deepest love throughout his life.

In addition to his mother Patricia Ellen Kerber Cooper and wife Jennifer Rainville Cooper, Scott is survived by his daughter Melissa Cooper (Ryan Miller), several nieces and nephews, also survived by his faithful canine companion “Cheech” and feline companions “Suzie” and “Fatboy”. Scott was predeceased by his brother Mark Cooper, Sr.

The family would like to thank Dr. Heckman and his team, the nursing staff at St. Peter’s Hospital for their compassion and care giving to Scott.
