Shannon Robinson Doggett, 56, of Troy, NY, passed away on November 11th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on November 5th, 1968, to Ann Nelson Diduch and Wayne Robinson in Wynantskill, Shannon exemplified a lifelong dedication to education and helping others.
After graduating from Troy High School in 1986, she pursued her passion for teaching at The College of Saint Rose, earning a degree in Special Education, followed by a Master's in Literacy from SUNY Albany.
Throughout her distinguished career as an educator, Shannon touched countless lives through her work at Beginnings, Troy City Schools, and the Shenendehowa School District. Her genuine enthusiasm for teaching reading and her ability to connect with students left an indelible mark on the community. Colleagues and students alike were inspired by her infectious smile and the heartwarming stories she shared about her students achievements.
In 2010, Shannon found her perfect match in Dan Doggett, beginning a beautiful chapter filled with love, adventure, and family. Together, they explored the world, creating cherished memories across England, Iceland, Alaska and many more locations. Shannon seamlessly became an integral part of the Doggett family, bringing her warmth and joy to both immediate and extended family.
A devoted animal lover, Shannon found special joy in caring for her beloved pets, including her dear Jimmy and Ellie, along with the many cats she cherished throughout her life. Her compassion for animals was matched only by her dedication to her family and students.
Shannon was predeceased by her parents, Ann and Wayne. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her husband, Dan; son, Austin; stepdaughter, Jessica (Peter); brother, Scott and his wife Florencia; nieces, Natalia and Samantha; and nephews, Matias, Tomas, and Lautaro.
