Shirley A. Catone (Mema), age 92 passed away on February 6, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones. She settled down in Wynantskill and was raised in South Troy, NY. Known affectionately as Mema, Shirley was a stay-at-home mom for the majority of her life, dedicated to taking care of her loving family. She truly enjoyed attending all family functions and ensuring everyone was present. Every morning at 9:00 am, Shirley could be found attending mass on TV and singing along with the choir.
Shirley was an avid sports fan, rooting for the New York Mets and her favorite team of all the Minnesota Vikings. Shirley had a particular fondness for eggplant parmesan and enjoyed the occasional scratch-off ticket.
Shirley’s kind personality and laughter always brought a smile to everyone’s face and will be truly missed.
She is survived by her children; James (Rhonda), Michael, Patricia (David) and John (Jondelle), grandchildren Andrea, Michelle, Kelly and Janie, her great grandson Trystan, also survived by William Tilley (Lisa) and her brother in laws, her sister in laws and several nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by her grandson Nicholas.
Family and friends are invited to a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 Am on Tuesday February 11, 2025 at the St. Jude the Apostle Church 43 Brookside Avenue, Wynantskill. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in memory of Shirley may be made to St. Jude the Apostle Church.
