Thomas J. Krill, 78 passed away on Thursday May 12, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Troy on May 18th, 1943, he was the son of the late Nicholas Krill and Martha D’Alessio Krill. Thomas attended Troy High School before entering the Marine Corps in 1959. He served in Okinawa until 1962. He worked for the New York State Department of Transportation, retiring in 2004.
Thomas was the husband to his loving wife Carol Krill (Bennaway) for 58 years. Additionally, he is survived by his beloved children, Rita (Christopher) Pelton of Glenville and Tom Krill of Ballston Lake, his grandchildren Samuel and Benjamin Pelton, and Sophia and Thomas Krill Jr, his brother Nicholas (Susan) Krill of North Carolina, his sister-in-law Dianne (William) Gleason of Schenectady, and his special nephew, Stephen Lomascolo. He is also survived by several other nieces, and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother, father and sister, Anne Lomascolo.
Thomas loved to travel, especially to the ocean. His life was fulfilled by making people smile and laugh, and he always enjoyed a good party. “Poppy” treasured time spent with family, especially his grandchildren, for whom he never missed an event. Above all, he enjoyed going anywhere and everywhere in the car for a daytrip with his beloved Carol.
Family and friends are invited and may call from 10:00 am to 12:00pm on Thursday May 19, 2022 at the Wynantskill Funeral Home, 294 Whiteview Road, Wynantskill. Funeral mass will follow at 12:30 at Sacred Heart Church, Troy. Burial with military honors will be held at Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville following mass at 2:30pm.
