Thomas P. Manny of Westerlo, NY passed away at Albany Medical Center on October 15, 2023. He was born in Troy, New York, on March 31, 1954, the son of the late Joseph and Stella (Pasinella) Manny. Tom attended Catholic Central High School (1972), Hudson Valley Community College, and SUNY Utica earning his Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. He was an insurance broker for Burt Anthony Associates for many years.
Tom was predeceased by Mary and Edwin Dudwoire, Babe and Frank Piscatella, Pat and Linda Pasinella, Rosemary Pasinella, John and Eleanor (Manny) Smith.
He is survived by his daughter Cassandra, son Brendon (partner Lauren Sanford), brothers Robert (partner Sue), Joseph III (partner Bruce Valicenti), former spouse Renee Wheeler Manny and niece Paula (Manny) Hyatt. Also survived by numerous cousins and close friends.
During his life, Tom’s passion was football. He was on the championship team at Catholic Central High in 1972. He played for, coached and owned several teams in the Albany area. In 2008, Tom was recognized for his talent, hard work and dedication by being inducted into the American Association’s Minor League Hall of Fame. Tom was also an administrator for the Empire Football League, sharing his leadership and knowledge.
Funeral procession for Tom will begin on Tuesday October 24, at 8:15 AM from John H. Clinton Funeral Home, 294 Whiteview Road Wynantskill, NY, to St. Anthony of Padua Church, Troy, NY where at 9:30 a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The funeral will then proceed to St. Mary’s Cemetery in Troy. Friends and relatives are invited to attend and may call at the funeral home Monday, October 23, from 4:00-7:00.
