Timothy John Maloney II of Salem, NY died suddenly on Saturday, May 21st, 2022. Tim is survived by his children James, Fiona, and Margaret, his stepsons Ronan and Joshua Hoag, his wife Colleen, his brother Tom (Kim) of Stanwood, Washington and their children, his cherished Aunt Maryhelen (Steven) Culver, several cousins and a multitude of friends including David Buckley, Rick Lundy, and the Faulkner family.
he is the son to the late John Thomas Maloney and Bernice McCormack Caldwell.
Tim was a loving father and a good friend always ready with a smile for those in need. He worked for Verizon, first as a dispatcher and then as a line-technician braving harsh weather and fierce winds to keep services going. He was known to do the odd task for an elderly customer on his way out the door.
He enjoyed skeet shooting, archery, and axe throwing with his children and step-children and picking his banjo at the kitchen table. He wanted to live a simple life, with simple demands upon the world where everyone was free to be who they were.
A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Troy, NY Friday, May 27th at 10am with burial to follow at New Rural Cemetery, Rensselaer. A celebration of life event will be held Friday, June 3rd Cambridge, NY American Legion pavilion 5-8pm to rejoice in the love we share for Tim.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you be yourself without fear, and love without judgement
“So forget about your yesterdays of sorrow
And forget about the darkness you have seen
For there’s only you and me at the edge of an endless sea
And remember that the only time is now.”
-The Grateful Dead “The Only Time is Now” (Parker/Garcia)
