Zachary Ian Stemp, of Wynantskill, NY, born February 13, 1981, passed away suddenly at home on February 15, 2026.
Zach loved his family and friends fiercely. He had a great sense of humor and brought laughter to everyone around him. He spent his career in construction and was a proud member of the Local 190 union. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and for hunting. At home, he was always accompanied by his beloved dog, Lacey Jeanne.
He is survived by his loving mother, Barbara Stemp; his siblings Lauren Stemp (Bill Novak) and Peter Melaragno (Kelly); and many loving cousins. He is also survived by his beloved nieces and nephews: Abagail Melaragno (David), Nicholas Melaragno (Kayla), Anna Salerno, Stephen Melaragno, Carson Venson (great-nephew), Dominic Novak, Aubrielle Stemp, Olivia Stemp, William Novak, and Jackson Novak.
He is also survived by his father, Jack Stemp, of Florida.
Calling hours will be held at the Wynantskill Funeral Home, 294 Whiteview Road, Wynantskill, NY 12198, on Saturday February 21, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by prayers by Deacon Chuck Wojton. Internment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Wynantskill, NY.
